TheFlu+You

The leaves are falling, the days are getting shorter and the flu season is here.

With it comes many rumors and misinformation about H1N1 and a multitude of other flu strains running rampant throughout the world and right here in our own community.

As parents, the health of our children is always a major concern and we can use all the help we can get. We need to stay informed about vaccinations, flu trends, flu prevention, recognizing flu like symptoms and how to educate our children about how they can help themselves and other children prevent the spread of the flu.

With that in mind I’d like to point you to a website that can help answer many of the questions that parents and children have about the flu.

It’s an interactive website where parents and children alike can learn together about the flu and how to help prevent it’s spread. You can visit the website at http://goodtoshare.com where you’ll find information on what the flu is, your vaccination options, flu trends, recognizing flu symptoms and preventing the spread of the flu. The information is presented via a set of interactive tabs which include interactive maps, short stories, videos featuring Elmo from Sesame Street and there’s even a couple ebooks you can download and share with the kids.

As always we invite you to come back and leave a comment in the comment box below.
