Help a Local Area Student
Back to School signs are starting to show up everywhere you turn, but did you know that without help many local kids will lack many of the basics needed to help them succeed this year in school and beyond.
This summer, Staples and DoSomething.org have teamed up to make it easy for you to help a local area student who otherwise might be at a disadvantage this coming school year due to a situation outside of their control. From now until Sept. 19th you can help local area children that live in poverty by getting them the basic supplies they need to go back to school.
Grammy winning and best-selling musician, Ciara, is supporting the National Do Something 101 School Supply Drive this year. Watch the public service announcement featuring Ciara that is set to air on local television and radio stations:
The Second Annual “Do Something 101 School Supply Drive” is now under way in Larimer County and Staples and DoSomething.org want to make it easy for you to help.
Do Something 101, tells you how to run a school supply drive at www.dosomething.org/dosomething101/supply_drive#01. It also tells you how you can help by donating supplies in the collection bins at our local Staples stores.
The supplies will be distributed to local area children in need. You can drop off your supplies at one of Staples’ two area stores, 4333 Corbett Drive in Fort Collins or 1665 Rocky Mountain Ave. in Loveland. Or find any store nationwide and they will be delivered to children in need in nearby communities. You can also make monetary donations.
DoSomething.org hopes to encourage teens to take action in their own communities. Learn more about them online at www.dosomething.org.
