If you’ve been watching our Twitter updates lately you may have seen some of our want ads. As our official launch date draws closer we need to be thinking more about filling the remaining spots that are still open.

To that end we will be developing a campaign to fill those spots. One of the areas that still has a number of open positions and the one we’ll address here is that of our regular blog columnists. If you consider yourself to be a good writer and have a specific area of expertise or a passion that you’d like to write about on a somewhat regular basis one of these positions may be right for you.

At this point we’re still quite open to suggestions for the topics of these columns. The one criteria however that must be met is the articles in the columns must be of local concern. In other words an article in the sports column must be about one of the local teams or have a direct impact on them or our community.

While these positions are unpaid positions they do come with some pretty cool advantages or perks.

  • You’ll gain experience and exposure
  • You’ll receive expect training in the areas of blogging and writing
  • You’ll be eligible to win our writer of the month award
  • You’ll also have the first shot at any of our paid positions as they became available

If this sounds like something you may want to pursue please leave us a message in the comment box below and we’ll be in touch.

We hope to hear from you soon.

  • I’m interested in learning more. Would I have to write on the same topic all of the time? Thanks!

    Hi Tracey,

Thank you for your response and question.

The article above is mainly seeking writers that focus on one topic or area of expertise such as a sports writer or someone who writes a weekly column about politics or the stock market.

However we are also looking for writers that can contribute other types of articles and/or stories of local interest as well.

Our main goal is to became a trusted source of hyper-local information for our readers. So as long as the articles or stories are of local interest we would welcome your contributions.

We will also be in touch with you via email very shortly.

Once again thank you and we hope to be hearing from you again.

I am interested in learning more. I enjoy movies, television and sports but I can blog about other items if there is a different need. I would appreciate receiving more information about this project.

  • Lance Myers says:

Hi there, I think this sounds like something I would like to do! What sort of time commitment does it entail? Would you mind emailing me with more info? Thanks!

  • admin says:
