Top Ten Restaurants in Fort Collins

greek-foodI found this list of top 10 restaurants in Fort Collins, Colorado last night and I want to get your opinion on it. Myself I’m not sure I agree with the order in which they’re placed and think there’s at least two restaurants missing from the list all together that should have been placed near the top. But hey that’s just my opinion.

What I’d really like is to get your opinion as to the top 10 restaurants in Fort Collins. To chime in with your opinion simply leave your opinion in the comment box below.

  • How is the Rio not listed?

  • admin says:

Thanks for adding Rio to the list.

Here’s more that I received via twitter: Stonehouse, Lucille’s, Bisetti’s, Rasta Pasta, Big City, Fiona’s, Jim’s Wings, Cafe Mexicali, Austin’s, Rio

whew! i just finished my own list in response to this article. … now i’m hungry.

  • barefootmeg says:

rats! i thought the fine print down here (points below) said you could add a link. but mine doesn’t seem to have come through.

my top ten list is here: http://barefootmeg.multiply.com/journal/item/189/Megs_Top_Ten_List_of_Restaurants_in_Fort_Collins_Colorado

  • Something tells me the list was highly influenced by our college student population.

  • admin says:

Thank you so much for your comments and of course the link to your list. I have to agree it’s much closer to being an accurate list of the top 10 restaurants in Fort Collins.

Once I have a little more feedback I’ll be updating the list to reflect every ones input.

Here is a summary of tweets by coyotecolorado in reply to the list of top ten restaurants in Fort Collins. Thanks for your input coyotecolorado

Would like to put Sonny Lubick Steakhouse in there, but was served a well done new york strip that had been previously frozen.

#6. Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse is another franchise that is not even as good as the real Bennihannas.

#8, #9, #10 eh. Think a steakhouse would have made it into the top 10 Fort Collins, why not Charcoal Broiler?

#7. Avogadro’s Number can stay at #7, I am cool with that. :)

DP Dough – find one of our stores, look at our menu, or obtain information about opening your own D.P. Dough Franchise.

#2. Jay’s should be #1. There is no debate. Pickle Barrel Inc. is good food but lets get real.

replace China Wok with Yung’s Kitchen. -China Wok gave me food poisoning. Yung’s is a hole in the wall but the best.

replace relatively trendy Positano’s with the legendary Pulcinella’s Pizzeria.

You can find the actual twitter tweets at: http://twitter.com/coyotecolorado

  • Alan Jurysta says:

I agree Pulcinellas is number 1 Pizza in Fort Collins.
Moot House is a favorite of mine and Harmony Grill should be in the top 10 too. Taj Mahal is always excellent.

  • barefootmeg says:

pulcinella’s rocks. la collina ain’t bad, either.

we just got back from the rustic oven and it wasn’t nearly as good as i remembered. :-\ i’ve pulled it from my top 10 list.

i agree, the original list seems pretty college student-y.

  • Doug Hay says:

Are you kidding me? Rio, Sri Thai, Bisetti’s, Rustic Oven are all missing. Pickle Barrel is awesome but it’s a deli not a restaurant. Armadillo simply isn’t good food, good atmosphere for some maybe but the food….DP Dough, good but not a restaurant. Would you rather go to woody’s or the Rio? Really?

  • barefootmeg says:

i think sonny lubick’s is waaaay over priced. if i’m going to spend $30 on a dish, i want it to be flavorful and interesting. there should be something new or unique or exciting about the dish. i’d rather drop $30 at plank any day.

  • I’m vegetarian, cheap, and don’t get to the north end much but my favorites are 2mayto 2mato, la Luz, Rainbow, and Big City Burrito. Rio still has the best margs, but I’ve never liked the food there (sober).

  • barefootmeg says:

    Where is 2mayto 2mato? I haven’t heard of that.

Have you tried Tasty Harmony on Mason? It was so refreshing to walk into a restaurant and be able to look at the entire menu instead of looking for the little veggie symbols.

I agree on Rio. I’ve never understood why the lines are so long. The food is pretty so-so in my opinion. But they are pretty community oriented. I like that about them.

  • Jan Saysette says:

OMG! The Armadillo food tasted like dog food 20 years ago. What are you guys thinking??

  • barefootmeg says:

i visited the new creperie at the corner of mason and mountain twice this past week and had fantastic crepes both times. as i chomped into that first bite i immediately thought, “it’s time to update my top 10 FC restaurants list!”

  • BigYank says:

2mayto2mato is actually now called Caribbean Food Shack and they are located at 1232 West Elizabeth just back of Silver Mine and between Blackjack Pizza and Pita Pit. Website is http://www.2mayto2mato.com.

Serve authentic, made from scratch, food of Trinidad & Tobago.

Give it a try. Vegi available.
