Fort Collins is in the news again and finds itself on yet another best of the best lists.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has named Fort Collins as one of the “Dozen Distinctive Destinations of 2010″. This is of course quite the honor for a city that takes pride in it’s heritage and unique historic character.

Each of the cities that up the Distinctive Dozen were selected because of their dynamic downtown areas with many diverse cultural activities and attractions with appealing architecture and a strong commitment to historic preservation and lasting sustainability. Does sound like Fort Collins doesn’t it?

But wait there’s more, Fort Collins is also in the running to be this year’s Fan Favorite, so while you’re their remember to vote for Fort Collins as your favorite Distinctive Destination.

The voting will take place between February 3rd and the 28th, any legal resident of the U.S., 18 years of age or older, can vote as often as they like for their favorite city or town of 2010, and the winner will be announced on March 1, 2010.

Plus, everyone who votes is automatically entered to win a complimentary two night stay at any Historic Hotel of America.
